Join us at the "Write Away" SCWC Fall Workshop

The Southern Christian Writers Conference is thrilled to be meeting again IN PERSON for this year's "Write Away" Fall Workshop in Orange Beach, Alabama.

This is a great opportunity to get away to the beach, fellowship with fellow Christian writers, and get on track with your writing plans and dreams.

The workshop is limited to just 30 attendees and will be held at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. (Please note that we are adhering to Covid-19 protocols; we encourage vaccinations and ask that you wear a mask if you're not vaccinated. If you are sick or show any symptoms in the days approaching the workshop, please don't attend. ) Learn more about the church HERE on its website.

The Write Away workshop will include four sessions:

1) Discovering your gifts & finding your niche

2) Writing a mission statement & locating opportunities

3) Spiritual journaling & other disciplines

4) Getting focused and organized

Leaders for the workshop are Stephanie Rodda and Cheryl Wray.

Stephanie is an author, freelance writer, blogger, and inspirational speaker who lives in the Birmingham area with her husband and XLfamily. Her published books include How Then Shall We Live (novel) and Hope and Help for Homeschooling Parents (devotional). Her favorite subjects are faith and family, and encouraging other writers to take next steps and answer the call on their lives brings her great joy.

Cheryl is the coordinator of the Southern Christian Writers Conference and a prolific freelance writer, book author, and publisher. She's published thousands of articles in a variety of newspapers and magazines, currently serving as the cover story writer for Christian Family Publications. Her book Writing for Magazines (McGraw-Hill) was a Featured Selection of Writer's Digest magazine, and her other books on writing have been used as college textbooks and by writers wanting to learn more about getting published. Her latest book is Notes from a Quarantine: Essays. Stories, and Poems (2020, Southern Story Books). She lives in Hueytown, Alabama and is married with three daughters and six grandchildren.

The cost for the workshop is just $35, and includes all four sessions, learning packet, snacks, lunch, and more.
