Time is running out for you to enter the 2022 SCWC Notable Book Awards. The deadline to enter your book is (postmarked) December 28.

The SCWC Notable Book Awards recognize outstanding books published in the previous year, and are presented by the Southern Christian Writers Conference organization. Books are chosen based on their outstanding writing, presentation, and message.

Books can be entered in these categories:

~ Fiction (traditionally published)

~ Fiction (self published)

~ Nonfiction (traditionally published)

~ Nonfiction (self published)

~ Devotional

~ Children's and young adult

~ Ebook

Books are judged by SCWC staff members and dedicated judges in each of the categories. Three finalists in each category will be announced on January 14 and the winners will be announced and honored at the SCWC Notable Book Awards Ceremony on Feb. 4 in Northport, Alabama.

Do you want to enter your book (or books)? It's easy to do so.

Send a copy of your submission to:

Along with your book, include the following information:

A $10 entry fee must be submitted with each book entered into the contest. You can send a check with your book/s, or send the fee to Venmo at @SCWC-Conference, to PayPal to scwritersconference@gmail.com, or by debit or credit card (let us know and we'll invoice you).

All three finalists will receive a finalist virtual badge to display on their social media and a press release to distribute about their accomplishment. Winners will receive a full media kit with information and graphics to announce their win; they will also receive a small cash prize.

Former winners of the SCWC Notable Book Awards have come from authors in all genres and from throughout the country, and have been wonderful examples of faith-filled writing.

Last year's winners were:

Fiction, traditionally published — My Dear Miss Dupré by Grace Hitchcock

Fiction, self-published — The Bachelorettes of the Bible by Theresa V. Wilson

Nonfiction, traditionally published — Life on Pause: Learning to Wait Well by Candy Arrington

Nonfiction, self-published — Goodnight, Sweetheart: A Story of Faith, Hope, and Love by Alan Johnston

Devotional — Health, Healing, and Wholeness: Devotions of Hope in the Midst of Illness by Tracy Crump

Children’s/young adult — The Stars in April by Peggy Wirgau.

We especially encourage members of the SCWC to enter the contest, but anyone can enter their book/s.

We look forward to hearing from you!
