The Southern Christian Writers Conference (in partnership with TAB Media Group) provides inspiration and instruction for aspiring and published writers of faith. The SCWC has brought writers together since 1991 at its annual workshop and other writing events, and is recognized as one of the best conferences in the nation.

We host seasonal workshops throughout the Southeast, and our annual workshop will take place this year on June 3-4, 2022.

Rhonda and Kaley Rhea
"Get Your Story Straight"
Rhonda Rhea and Kaley Rhea, mother/daughter writing duo, co-authored the award-winning romantic comedy novels, Off-Script & Over-Caffeinated and Turtles in the Road, and have also teamed up with beloved Bridges TV host, Monica Schmelter, for the nonfiction, Messy to Meaningful projects. Rhonda and Kaley are Christy Award finalists, Selah Award finalists, Book of the Year semi-finalists, Golden Scroll Award winners, and more. Kaley is also a Selah Award winning devotional writer. Rhonda is the author of more than a dozen other titles, including the Fix Her Upper series co-authored with Beth Duewel, and Unruffled—Thriving in Chaos, co-authored with Edie Melson. She is a multi-award-winning humor columnist and a nationally known speaker. Both Rhonda and Kaley live in St. Louis and enjoy big family life with the growing Rhea team.
Grace Hitchcock
"Writing Characters Readers Love"
Grace Hitchcock is the author of multiple historical novels and novellas, including the upcoming My Dear Miss Dupré from Bethany House Publishers. Other titles include The White City, Second Chance Brides, Southern Belle Brides, and Thimbles and Threads. She holds a Masters in Creative Writing and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in History. Grace lives in Baton Rouge with her husband, Dakota, son and daughter. Andrew Huff

"Dialogue in Fiction"
Huff is the author of the action-packed Shepherd Suspense Series from Kregel Publications. The first book in the series, A Cross to Kill, was a finalist in the Mystery/Thriller categories of both the 2020 Foreword INDIE awards as well as the 2020 ACFW Carol Awards. Huff is an accomplished novelist as well as screenwriter and has worked in the church media and entertainment industry after spending 10 years as a leader in local church ministry. He currently lives in Texas with his wife Jae, two sons, and rescue dog.
Deborah Malone
"Make Your Setting Come Alive"
Deborah's first novel Death in Dahlonega, was a finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writer's Category Five writing contest.  Deborah was also nominated for 2012 and 2013 as Georgia Author of the Year in Novel category and was awarded the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2018. She has published four novels in her Trixie Montgomery cozy mystery series.
Vanessa Griggs

Gene Rowley is the owner of Jumpmaster Press, a publishing company that focuses on distributing innovative products to authors and readers while also creating a grass-roots distribution model for independent authors via the Traveling Bookstore.

Gene is also an award-winning voice talent who nominated three years in a row for Audiobook Narration of the Year by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences. He has worked in the radio industry at stations in Birmingham, Houston, and Los Angeles, and today runs a non-profit station in Alabama.

Cheryl Wray

Cheryl Wray is the coordinator of the Southern Christian Writers Conference, and a popular speaker at events for women and writers. She's written thousands of articles for newspapers and magazines and is the author of five books on writing (Writing for Magazines, Feature Writing, Masterpieces of Reporting, Great Editorials, and Query Letter Secrets); she has worked in book publishing with fiction writers and her first young adult novel is in the editing stage. Her ebook publishing imprint Southern Story Books publishes fiction with a Southern slant.
